Bio of Nadia Afzal, DMD
Dr. Afzal’s journey from being a “traditional” dentist to a more “airway” centered dentist began when attending an Airway Symposium via the highly respected Dawson Academy several years back. Many of the issues being discussed for children who exhibit airway disorders/sleep-disordered breathing (such as lip tie, tongue ties, and sleep apnea) seem to shed light on many of the questions Dr. Afzal had regarding her own children’s health.
Since that first symposium, Dr. A has traveled and studied extensively- becoming a diplomate with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, having obtained the status of a “Breathe Ambassador” with the Breathe Institute; a graduate of the Tongue-Tied Academy with Dr. Richard Baxter, and fellow status with the American Laser Study Club- first to achieve many of these recognitions in the Lehigh Valley.
